Controversial online news platform, Sahara Reporters has accused Pastor E.A Adeboye, 74 of usurping the duties of the of the newly appointed "National Overseer" of The Redeemed Christian Church of God – Pastor Joseph Obayemi in a recent public activity in Lagos State.

As seen in the photos, Pastor Adeboye was seen representing The Redeemed family at the Lagos State Government Annual Thanksgiving Service that took place in the commercial capital of Nigeria, yesterday, 8th of January, 2017.

The event was attended by top dignitaries in Lagos State with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode delivering an impressive speech about the future of the financial hub of Nigeria under his administration.

It would be recalled that on Saturday, January 7, 2017, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, told all ministers gathered at the Annual Ministers Conference, that the Church now has a new General Overseer, but before the end of the day, information emerged that Pastor Adeboye had only stepped down as General Overseer for Nigeria and would still continue to function as General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide.
