It is reported that the DMW boss, Davido, laid off his dancers some minutes before his stage performance at the 3thrones concert on Sunday the 23rd of October 2016. That move didn't go down well with Nigeria's dance Queen, Kaffy So she made a video where she cautioned and rebuked Davido for doing such to dancers, who according to her, should be held in the same high regard as the musicians. Her words in the video went thus:
"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! It's alright if artistes don't need us! We are artistes ourselves. It is very disrespectful for you to look down at, and trample on people who in one way or the other have contributed to where u are today. Dance is our widow’s mite to a lot of your careers. All you need to do is respect us. Even other people under you suffer your arrogance, from stylist to band men. This message is for those of you that disrespectfully disregard us dancers especially. @davidoofficial."
"If you don't want dancers, express it way before you agree to allow them to dance. Then when you're about to climb the stage, you decide you don't need us again. Or tell dancers not to come near you while you perform. Wtf. It's not ur fault. We have learned our lesson. And we thank arrogant artiste like you, as this will not continue for long. Nowadays artistes take a piss. People pay a lot of money to see you come out and give a good show. It requires more than u jumping all over the place with no content."
"Even some artiste in other countries who perform alone still plan their craft. They practice, they rehearse, and they are never tired of doing better than their last. But here, most don't care. Only few like @peterpsquare, @rudeboypsquare, @2niteflavour, @tiwasavage, @efya_nokturnal, @iamseyishay, @dareydarey, and even @jidenna are one-man performers that plan their crafts for their fans. (This is to mention a few out of the few) to those who still respect our craft."
She, however, apologized later in the day for this blast. But that doesn't erase what she had said already. Do you think she had a point in the things she said?
