it is no longer news that quite a number of talented Nigerian
celebrities are vying for positions in the forthcoming 2015 general
elections. From the likes of screen diva Kate Henshaw, actor Richard
Mofe Damijo (RMD), singer 9ice, to Tony Tetuila, there is an increasing
rise in the number of celebrities showing interests in politics. As much
as we love our celebrities, we think the five celebrities listed below
shouldn’t join politics:
Wizkid:
There is no denying that the name Wizkid is a household name in
Nigeria today. Not only has this youngster been able to carve a niche
for himself as one of the country’s finest music acts, he has remained
consistent over time which is one of the reasons the fans love him so
much. Politics is certainly going to be a bad choice for this music
sensation as he would be denying millions of fans the pleasure of his
banging hit songs. The fans can’t get enough of Wizkid and this should
be enough reason for him never to join politics.
Tonto Dikeh:
Screen
diva cum musician, Tonto Dikeh is a Nigerian celebrity that politics
should be a capital NO for. This light skinned beauty is considered one
of the most controversial celebrities in Nigeria and with Tonto’s open
love for weed, she just might get it in her head to move a motion to
legalize weed. There is no doubt that Tonto Dikeh is a good actress but
just like her music venture, politics should be a no go area.
Basket Mouth:
A
list of Nigeria’s top notch comedians is incomplete if the name Bright
Okpocha doesn’t make the cut. Funny and successful with many awards to
his credit, Basketmouth as he is popularly known shouldn’t be thinking
of politics anytime soon. Unarguably one of the funniest people alive,
Basketmouth is sure going to set a lot of ribs cracking in any house of
assembly or even the senate.
Denrele Edun:
If
you think, it’s just about the actors and musicians; think again. There
are celebrities and there are celebrities! On-air-personality Denrele
Edun stands out from the rest because of his eccentric dressing and
creative madness. From outfits that will leave your jaws hanging open to
hairstyles that will make you doubt his sanity, Denrele Edun makes this
list of celebrities that shouldn’t harbor thoughts of joining politics.
He has revealed several times that he is nobody’s role model and aside
all the aforementioned personality traits, let’s face it, Nigerian
youths need a role model.
Cossy Orjiakor:
It
is unclear whether Cossy Orjiakor is an actress or a musician but it
doesn’t matter what she does, she is famous for her gigantic mammary
glands. Cossy is used to getting attention for her oversized load and
she doesn’t mind flaunting it. Crucial decisions need to be made in
politics and with the view of Cossy’s chest in your face, it is not very
certain that the other political leaders might be able to make clear
decisions.
