Marriages are expected to be enjoyed, not to be endured and for the union of a popular actress, Shade Omoniyi, well known as Lepa Shandy, the former is definitely her case.
In 2012, Nigeriafilms.com exclusively reported that Lepa Shandy secretly married a Dublin-based big boy named Dayo David Adewale. The handsome man is from Ogun State and from latest information divulged to us, Dayo, as he is fondly called, has been showering love and affection on the pretty actress.
It was further disclosed to us that Lepa Shandy is really enjoying her marriage and has nothing to worry about because of her man has always been there for her.
We also learnt that the actress’ peaceful home has been responsible for the peace of mind she has been enjoying. Some industry sources told us that it is very evident on the actress’ outlook that she is happy being married to Dayo.
“If you notice lately, Shade (Lepa Shandy) has been ‘shinning’. You will also notice that her skin has been glowing extraordinarily since she got married to Dayo. I am really for her because she went through hell in other relationships before she met her husband,” one of the industry sources toldNigeriafilms.com.
When asked the reason Lepa Shandy has been seen frequently in Nigeria lately, we were informed that she comes to the country for some movie productions and goes back to join her husband and to take care of her family.
“Don’t forget that she is a talented actress and producers will always want her on their productions. Her husband knows what she does for a living before he decided to marry her. Most times, when she is done with movie jobs in Nigeria, she returns to be with her family. Don’t also forget that she is a mother,” another source quipped.

Yesterday, Saturday 18, 2015, Nollywood Actress, Lillian Usuro turned a year older and lots of her fans and colleagues sent her volumes of goodwill messages on social media platforms.
But one of the messages that caught the attention of many was that of Ghanaian actor named Majid Michel, who said he has got tickets for himself and the actress.
He wrote, “I heard you are free in 2weeks!!! So guess what!!! I got us tickets to MIAMI!!!! YAAAAAYYY!!!! I can't wait!!! it will be so much funnnnn !! But for now have an incredible BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION...... See u in 2weeks!!!”
Could this be more than a birthday vacation for a colleague, a joke or the movie stars already have an existing love affair going on between them? These and more questions have been flooding their comment boxes. But only the two famous silver screen celebrities can answer to that.
The ‘Nurse Abigail’ in the popular television series, ‘Clinic Matters’ has featured in several films just as Michel, who we learnt is married.

“I only date younger men! I'm not interested in older men. One of the reasons is that they are all married, and secondly they all have big 'belle'. All of dem too get big belle. I nor like big belle o,” these were the words of Elvina Ibru in a recent interview.
Elvina is a businesswoman and one of the daughters of billionaire businessman, Olorogun Michael Ibru. She is bold, beautiful and daring, but doesn't believe in marriage or have plans to get married any time soon.
Giving more reasons she prefers to ruffle bed sheets with young blood, she said, “Yes, look, I'm a very straight forward person. You are attracted to what you are attracted to. Some people like skinny, dark girls, they'll never chase me.
“Some people like light skinned, round girls, they'll chase me. Some people like short women, they will not come after me, some like tall girls and will come after me. I might see a fine guy with a round stomach or chubby look and say, ‘oh, this guy is very handsome’ but the chemistry won't be there and I cannot force myself to like what I don't like.
“I like a slim, tall, and dark guy with a flat tummy, maybe because I'm big, so I'm attracted to the opposite. I also don't like light skinned men. I might see a handsome yellow guy and say ‘awww, this guy is cute’, but the chemistry will also not be there, maybe because it reminds me of my brothers.
“My brothers are light skinned. I don't really know why it works for me that way, but I don't deceive myself. I also tell people, don't deceive yourself. I don't have anything against older men, if I'm searching and i find an older man in my specs, then leggo! As regards age, I'm not that old, I'm only 42. My bobo is 34. Yes.”

Few days ago, singer May D made the news for allegedly battering the mother of his first child, Adebola Olowoporoku over flimsy excuses.
She hit the internet with pictures and stories of how May D had battered her silly while she was in a relationship with him for eight years.
However, reacting to the heavy allegations, Oreoluwa Akinbode, May D's cousin who doubles as his manager, denied it all.
Akinbode told Punch that there was no truth in the young lady’s allegations and wouldn’t have an idea why May D’s baby mama would push such news into the public.
“The truth is that the news has been out for a while and I haven’t spoken to anybody about it and May D has not either. When we read the news, we were shocked because it is false. We have spoken to our lawyers and our PR team and they have something they are working on.
We want anything that would come out to be the official statement of the company. We don’t want to release individual responses. Aside from being his manager, May D is also my cousin. Anything I say can be considered to be a statement from both his management and brother. That is why I am skeptical about going into details.
“Anything that will come out will be from our lawyers or PR team. We want it to be official.
Funny enough, you do not need to hear from May D before you know that he does not beat women not to talk about the mother of his child. If you followed the news, a lot of people replied on May D’s behalf that it is not possible without us saying anything. Anybody that knows him one on one knows that he is not capable of such.
She is still the mother of his son and because of that, we have to be cautious. We need to think of the family and that is why we need to be reasonable at this point. I don’t know why his baby mama would put out such a story about him. It is a personal relationship between them,” he said.

Veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Kareem Adepoju, better known as Baba Wande, has sent his congratulatory message to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari on his recent victory at the March 28 presidential poll in the country.
The actor also hailed President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat to Buhari.
“President Jonathan has set a good example for them to follow. I like the way he just let it go without sponsoring some people to foment trouble. It shows how great a man he is and I respect him for that.
“Many were thinking prior to the election that if either of the major presidential candidates lost, there would be trouble and Nigeria would boil.
“But see how President Jonathan just doused the tension. Even those who would have taken up arms to defend him were surprised. So, now that the President has shown he is a peaceful man, the PDP too should allow peace to reign. It’s by peace that Nigeria can achieve its potential. Whatever part they want to play in this new dispensation, let them play it peacefully,” he told Punch.
But what the actor cannot understand why he is yet to enjoy the intervention fund earmarked for the industry by the President.
He urged Buhari imitate Jonathan and support the entertainment industry.

Popular Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has said that he never received any gratification to back the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, contrary to what some people might be thinking.
The man of God stressed that he only spoke the mind of frustrated Nigerians, who are not happy with the present administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Some people said the APC people and Buhari had given me money but I have never seen Buhari before; I don’t know him. Buhari’s one kobo, as I talk to you, has never touched my hand. I don’t know him; God in heaven is my witness. I am just the voice of the voiceless, the sorrowful and the cheated and frustrated Nigerians.”
“He (Jonathan) says it shall be well but until when? Is it until you die? If my message will stir them into action, thank God it has achieved its purpose. I am not a politician; my job is to raise my voice from the sanctuary here. The same God that helped the Israelites to cross the red sea, did he not punish them in the desert?” he stated.
Speaking further, Mbaka warned Nigerians to stop praising government for providing the basic amenities they are saddled with to do.
According to him, “Nobody should praise any government for constructing roads because that is the job of the government. If you come to my church and I give you Holy Communion, is that an achievement? It is the duty of a mother to breastfeed her child; it is not an achievement.”

They are often referred to as the Nollywood love birds. Ramsey Nouah and Genevieve Nnaji have come a long way in the entertainment industry, but it has been long their fans saw them together on same movie scene.
Longing for such great movies again, during a recent interview on CNN’s African Voices, a fan asked Ramsey if he would ever work with Genevieve Nnaji again.
“Yes, yes my pair, my partner — of course, I will, some time hopefully soon, we’re looking forward to working on another very good blockbuster some time in the future,” he replied.
The actor also spoke on being scarce in movies; “I am spearheading the “New Nollywood,” so it’s more of getting a good production out and getting a good production out is quite capital intensive. You need investors and you need to explain to the investors and let them know what they’re going to benefit if they do get involved.
He further added, “it’s a long thing, unlike how we just used to do cheap movies and it was like quick. People could actually tell most of our stories from the beginning, they could tell the end already. I want that to change, hence I don’t do too many of movies anymore, but the cinema movies are now coming out. When that starts to come out then it would give room to people getting more from the movies.”

Music veteran Charles 'Charly Boy' Oputa is always known for his controversial articles. The grandfather who still wants to be very relevant in the entertainment industry, just wrote an article on how he thinks men should beat their wives.
It reads: “When I look back at my life, and all the stuff I did as a carefree, young and restless youth, I can't help but shudder at some of my very bad habits. Yes, I was once short-fused; blowing off at the slightest provocation. It was pitiful. Over time I have managed to rid myself of such sad habits but that can't be said for a lot of men some of who, even late in their lives can't still get over it, thereby losing their cool in their homes. No be small thing sha.
Domestic violence is an under reported crime in Nigeria, almost accepted as norm. Some men feel it's their right, some feel it's always the women who bring out the beast in them, while others will readily admit its a way of stamping their authority in the home. Sadly, many don't see anything wrong with beating their wives. How sad! Yes, am aware there are women who beat up their husbands, but those are in the minority and this piece ain't about them. The most guilty perpetrators are usually men and the victims are mostly their wives and sometimes their children too.
Men abusing women is like a defence and coping mechanism for being or feeling WEAK in other aspects of life, sometimes including deep analog beliefs about masculinity. Men who abuse loved ones tend to blame other things or people for their violent outbursts. In some cases, it is a cycle: "my father abused me and my mom, so, it's normal".
Society doesn't help either, it ingrains in a man's psyche that macho bullshit; how he should be strong and if he can't exhibit that in his daily public life, it's ok for him to go home and prove his strength.
Abusive men are not limited to a particular status, it ranges from a bricklayer to a CEO or even a President, causing their women to perpetually live in anxiety and fear. Most of them tip-toe around their husbands, not because they respect these men, but because of fear.
A violent man might have grown up in a dysfunctional household but this is still not a reason to be abusive. It is an excuse, and a flimsy one at that.
Some men don't come from humble homes where women are appreciated. Some of us come from homes that expose us to sex, gossip, male macho bullshit. Values for treating women start with where you're coming from, your background. However, beyond these, what fucks most men up is our BIG FAT EGO. It has everything to do with selfishness or overrated feeling of self-importance. QED.
Ego is the source of many negatives in the world. It is the false 'self' that Jesus said we should let die before we can gain everlasting life. Ego craves to be first, but we must be willing to be last. Unconditional love comes with humility, selflessness, abundant generosity, perfect responsibility, fearless confidence.
I no go brag, am not all that, but I dey try. God knows!
Now, for the man who feels trapped in this mad dance with his loved ones and is trying very hard to rid himself of this very terrible habit, do like me. If you start to feel that your fuse is about to burst, try and say nothing, hold it in for a few minutes and relocate yourself to another space, either in your house, or outside. Allow some time to elapse before you express yourself, never talk or let your fist run amok when you're upset; it doesn't make for a good picture.
Even though I have cured myself of my short fuse, i still get tempted from time to time. What works best for me now is silence. I go and lock myself in my room and will never utter a word to my lady until am sure am in control of my faculties. Since many moons ago, I have discovered that this is a very effective option in dealing with a very bad temper.
So next time you are with your woman and you feel like turning her into a punching bag, change the game, beat her with your silence for the period you feel like blowing your fuse. Na my way be that oooooo.”

Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has given kudos to the governor of Lagos, who he said has made the state comfortable for Igbos living in the 'aquatic state'.
The respected music producer made this comment following an alleged death threat statement attributed to the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, to Igbos living in Lagos State.
On Sunday, April 5, 2015, Akiolu was reported to have threaten the Igbos with death if they fail to vote the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, Akinwunmi Ambode.
But when forced by a fan to speak on the issue, Don Jazzy said, “I am a Nigerian first and an Igbo man second. Fashola has treated everyone in Lagos fairly as far as I know and I am proud to be associated with him.”
“As a wise/civilized/respectful Igbo man, I will not desecrate the stool of royalty, even though I totally frown at that recording. But I will tell you for free that we all have the freedom to choose whom to vote for & no one can force you or me to vote as he/she pleases,” he stressed.

The recent visit of First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan to Enugu has left a big scar on Nollywood. This is because the police in Enugu are currently looking for ways to settle the bitter feud that engulfed the artistes’ community in the state over how an alleged First Lady’s largesse would be shared among top actors who attended her rally.
This feud has seemingly put one group known as Nollywood Apostles against other stakeholders in Enugu State led by Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G, making it very difficult for the center to hold.
As at last Thursday, some of Nollywood’s big wigs involved were still angry and had refused to show up at the Police Area Command, Abakpa Nike, Enugu where the case was domiciled. The Area Commander had arranged for them to settle the matter amicably.
Checks reveal that Nollywood Apostles comprising some of the best faces in the movie industry including Steve Ajebo Eboh, Charles Awurum, Emeka Enyiocha, Benedict Johnson, Chinwe Owoh, and Ngozi Ezeonu among others had been featuring at several PDP campaign rallies including the one that brought Dame Jonathan to Enugu.
According to a source, trouble started after the departure of the First Lady when facilitators of the rally, Patience Ozokwor and Chinyere Wilfred were on stage giving the vote of thanks. An aide to Dame Jonathan had allegedly dropped a parcel containing N3 million into the hands of one of the actors, which he quickly cornered with the connivance of his fellow ‘Apostles’. But the cookies crumbled when the aide called Mama G aside and intimated her of the monetary gift and to whom it was handed.
“The real drama started when the actor who collected the parcel was about to zoom out of the venue in his car. Mama G re-enacted her screen roles for real. In her view, the money was meant for all the stakeholders who graced the rally and not only for the Nollywood Apostles. Mama G stood in the way of the car, yelling and asking to be crushed just as she sent someone to call the police. She didn’t mind being called witch, ashawo and all sorts of unprintable names. She blocked the car until the police came and took all the parties to the station,” a source says.
However, Steve Eboh has denied ever being involved in such a show of shame. He told Entertainer: “I never had anything to do with any money or anything like that. Don’t mind them, my brother. As I speak with you now, I am on my way to see Father Ede in Elele, Rivers State.”
For Charles Awurum, who later returned this reporter’s call after several phone calls made to him, it was denial all the way. Hear him: “I don’t know about any issues concerning Dame Jonathan’s money. I am in Port Harcourt now, please.”
On her part, Patience Ozokwor confirmed the story but she wouldn’t want to elaborate further, until after the elections. “The police have invited everyone to the station for settlement,” she volunteered.

Popular Nollywood actor, Odunlade Jonathan Adekola, has blamed the media for some certain stories written about him and his colleagues in the industry which sometimes are not being verified but written just to bring down celebs.
Speaking with Ontv, the actor stated that there are some journalist whom he knows very well also live the dirty lifestyle some of the celebs live but nobody can write about them yet they go after celebs private life.
“Some journalists do often forget the ethics of their profession due to some factors. But I will appeal to them to always investigate any story before they publish. This is important, because even journalists themselves have their own private lives. I can mention few of them that drink, smoke and even womanise. People don’t know about it because nobody can write about it,” he said.
Making suggestion on how the media can be well managed, the actor noted that it is important that there should be an arrangement by body of journalist barring reporters from writing scams about them as celebrities as he does not care what is being written about him.
According to him, “There should be an arrangement by a body of journalists in Nigeria to stop the reporting of scams about us and even about other people. The body should remind the media practitioners that only by being positive about the job will earn them good lives and for the good of the society too. It should also be spelt out that it is not compulsory that you bring people down before you are known or before you make it in life. Or does it make sense that you should kill some people because you want to rise up.”
